About Dean CABM
Dr. Devendra Kumar, Professor & Dean, College of Agri-Business Management is,
one of the rare individuals who have, perfect blend of two attributes in one,
i.e. of academician as well as administrator. He earned his Ph. D. in Soil and
Water Conservation Engineering in 1994. This is preceded by his M. Tech. in
Agril. Engineering from IIT Kharagpur (1982 Batch). He brought along with him a
rich experience of approximately three decades of teaching and research, which
is further substantiated by scores of research publications authored by him
which earned prominence in various national and international refereed research
journals.

His enterprising nature coupled with managerial aptitude came handy in
successfully articulating the concept of agri-business management. As a core
member of team, he is credited for putting life into College of Agribusiness
Management, due to him being successful in getting faculty positions created in
the college. He found it necessary for long term survival of the college. Since
very inception of the college, he had always been ready to give everything
possible for making the college a success. He continued his journey with college
till 2005 and played a pivotal role in the functioning of the college by
performing functions like In Charge Post Graduate Program, taking care of
admissions besides teaching courses and working as mentor to budding managers.
His administrative skills helped university to utilize his services in its
various offices and capacities. He served the university in capacity of Chief
Personnel Officer from August 16, 2000 to December 17, 2002, and on the very
next day he took over as Coordinator Admissions of the University, i.e., on
December 18, 2002 and continued to perform the role till December 18, 2006.
Approximately after six years of having left the team he again joined the
College of Agribusiness Management in evening of March 31, 2011. This time he
joined the college as Dean to steer the college to greater heights and brighter
avenues.
