The University is continuously engaged in the pursuit of excellence in higher education, research and extension education. It is satisfactory that the University has taken rapid strides to address the emerging challenges for the benefit of the farming community, industry and social sectors. Recognizing its sterling contributions, the University has been adjudged the Best ICAR Institution in the country and conferred with the Sardar Patel Outstanding Agricultural Institution Award twice for the year 2005 and 2007.

The much needed championing of Agriculture and Technology was the only way through which country would have prospered. The dream of many visionaries and statespersons, GBPUAT stands distinctly as the first State Agriculture University of the country under US Land Grant Pattern and has the pride of being inaugurated by the first Prime Minister of India, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru in the year 1960 and there on has gone to become the Harbinger of Green Revolution as per Nobel Laureate Late Dr. Borlaug.

College of Agribusiness Management, the first Agribusiness College under SAU system of the nation has further added laurels to university's unique and glorious history. Our various MBA Programmes have regularly produced out managers par excellence for the last 11 years. CABMites are go-getters – an eclectic blend of aspiration, high order of technical skills, ingenuity, enthusiasm, perseverance and integrity. The progress is possible with hard work, excellent infrastructure, dedicated faculty, commitment and out-of-box thinking distinguishing our Students far above from others.
