Phd (Management)

In Indian scenario, most of the management institutions are confining their academic activities to Bachelor and/or Master’s level programmes to produce Managers primarily for the corporate sector. The cooperative, public and social sectors have also started using the services of professional managers. There are very few institutions which are offering Ph.D. or Fellow programme in Management. Consequently, most of the Management Schools/Institutions are unable to find quality teachers to impart instructions at Bachelor or Master’s levels. The shortage of qualified academicians is also responsible for poor status of management research in the institutional frame work. There is, therefore, a need for starting Ph.D./Fellow programme in Management by institutions of repute so that qualified and motivated academicians viz. teachers and researchers are also produced by these B-Schools in addition to Managers. It is in this backdrop that the College of Agribusiness Management initiated Ph.D. programme in Management from July 2007. CABM firmly believes that quality research in management demands a wide range perspective and understanding. The programme is aimed at providing formal training to the budding faculty and working managers, with inclinations to academics for teaching and undertaking consultancy and research work. It will help in development of skills and competencies based on a sound understanding of the principles of management.
